Another time we boarded him for a week and they called me, making me feel quite panicked, saying his blood pressure felt low and I should get a thyroid test.... I was not thinking. Got it done. He was fine.... course his blood pressure would be low. He is in a kennel, not active, and probably sleeping all day.
The last thing I was not happy with at all is when he had a surgery. Needed two back teeth and a bump on his eye lid that had puss removed. They started on his teeth. Then called me to tell me his blood pressure dropped (which I found is actually normal) and asked how important it was for me to remove the eye sis... how the hell should I know that??? They told ME I needed to have them remove it. I am not the vet! I told them I would like it removed if they could so I would not have to do a second surgery. Then panicked again once I got off the phone, called them back asking,
Firstly when my dog had a surgery they did a thyroid test to make sure he would do ok. During a check up they talked me into paying for another one (maybe 4 months later) before I realized he had already gotten one for him (this was just a regular check up he was not seeming like thyroid was bad). They said he gained weight (two pounds...) and I told them he does every winter. They still talked me into it.
Took our shepherd here with left hind leg issues was told she needed $3000.00 surgery with special surgeon, when my husband took her back to discuss procedure they were going to operate on right front elbow. Took her for second opinion and my New vet did not recommended surgery. With meds and exercise she is doing much better, can barely tell she has a problem.
Have taken my dog there since I first got him. He is now 13. Kind staff to me but some things feel like they try to get money from you on services you do not need.
You can tell the staff love every animal they take care of here!
So anyways, these people worried me and sent me into full panic at times. Other times I would get a good vet... it is 50/50.
I did like at times when we boarded him they would get to know him well enough to let him walk around the office. That was nice they let him do that instead of being cooped up.
Not big on reviews but I was super impressed!!! 1st. Visit with my 18 month old Frenchie. The staff was super friendly. The facility is really nice and clean. I really liked the Vet Bethany Vincent she listened and gave me options. It's a bit of a drive for me but the experience was great. Considering my dog is a bit of a handful I was really appreciative of how nice they were!
The nurse replied, "I will let the surgeon know!"
The staff is always friendly, and knowledgeable. Most importantly I feel they treat us and our dogs like family! I'd recommend Log Cabin to anyone!
"If something goes wrong you will stop the surgery right?"
The hell is that supposed to mean?!
