This review is from my fiance'. "I attended Wright Beauty Academy this year. I was very excited about my future career as a cosmetologist but quickly realized what a terrible school I’d chosen. Our time as juniors consisted of everyone pretty much sitting on their phones looking at youtube and trying to replicate tutorials which would be fine if that’s what we were paying for but we were not. For almost $13,000 I expect to be instructed. They put several of us on the floor before we even hit 350 hours which is illegal and I expressed that I did not feel prepared but was assured it was time because they were moving in a new class. While in the junior room one to two days a week our instructor was given the day off for what I assume to be cutting corners for costs and we were left to our own devices with no lesson plan or supervision. There was a lot of favoritism among the faculty. Some girls were given the liberty of pretty much wearing and doing whatever they pleased despite handbook policy. I was denied on several occasions the ability to have a print out of my clock in and out hours.. the reasoning being that it took too much paper and that they would show me my clock in and out hours but not “right now” and “right now” never came. They also had a registered tier three sex offender attending on campus alongside underage high school students whom he often invited to his car in the parking lot and used very sexually explicit language toward them. When some of the students began to talk they called us into their office to say “he’s a very nice guy and we’d trust our daughters with him” which I didn’t feel was any consolation regarding these young naïve girls who were exposed to him. Despite my lack of training regarding hair cutting they rarely gave me cuts to teach me. I was very good at nails because I took the time to teach myself when the instructor wasn’t there so they began setting me up with nail appointments every day. I told them that I needed more practice with hair cutting but they continued to give me nails even when tail techs were available for appointments. This made it so I wasn’t getting enough hair cutting MPAs to graduate. I finally told them I wasn’t taking anymore nails and they were pretty upset. Not enough MPAs means I would have to go over contract to graduate therefore they would make more money off of me. During our lunches we were regularly pulled from eating to take clients when girls were available on the floor but were doing eachother’s hair. These were the privileged ones. The favorites so to speak. When working on clients as a senior it was nearly impossible to get help. It was usually one instructor to fifteen students and we’d be left waiting for up to fifteen minutes before help would come and that’s very dangerous when you’re doing color or a perm. Sometimes the instructors would be outside smoking behind their cars so you couldn’t find them. These are only a few of my grievances over this school. I’m starting another program and because of my lack of knowledge when testing out due to Wright’s poor education my near 800 credit hours has been transferred down to 600 to give me 200 extra hours in the junior room for instruction because I’m so sorely lacking. To anyone considering an education here PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reconsider! Other schools may cost a little more but you’ll actual come out of their programs knowing what you’re doing and I believe have a much greater chance of job placement. I wish someone had warned me before enrolling. It breaks my heart to see girls signing up for this school. It’s not about giving the students a fair opportunity at a good education… it’s about using victims of low income to run a business."

Do not go to this school! You will regret it! They waste your time and money. They are extremely petty and ridiculous.! They taught nothing! I have plenty of proof. Very ran down, cold, dirty looks nothing like he pictures.

I went in yesterday 7/19/17 and Victoria M did my hair. Full head of foil highlights. And they look great. Everyone there was so nice! I will be back and I hope to have Victoria again.

Very relaxed atmosphere, willing to work with you no matter what!
